This is a shame as the work is really a vigorous showcase of both technique and musicality for the violin soloist. The second movement in particular is quite beautiful, and Rózsa's familiarity with writing for the violin as well as his skillful handling of the orchestral accompaniment becomes evident.Gruppman's performance on this recording is skillful; his technique amply handles the intricate solo part. His sound in the lower registers of his instrument is abundantly warm and rich.
