This is the second book I have read by Charles Ray Willeford. His books are real page turners and if you like detective stories, you will enjoy this book.. Would like to find others by him that feature the character Hoke Mosely.

Much better than the movie!
I started reading this book with an expectation of an entertaining story. However, Willieford transforms this cat and mouse story into a darkly funny crime spree. The first line alone is the perfect hook to keep reading. Besides the unusual characters prevalent in the novel, Willieford gives the characters actual lives with other things happening other than the main storyline. Ultimately, Willieford isn't Mario Puzo and he doesn't really try to be. He is more like Quentin Tarantino in terms of story telling. Read it, you won't regret it.
