Unfortunately I read "Terra Incognita" first but she had me hooked from the very beginning and that is what I enjoy about her books and her writing! Great writer, great story teller and great character developer!
A Good Read!
I also like that the author makes suggestions about other books to read as she was developing her book. She has led me to an interest in the history of the Roman Empire!
Thank You Miss Downie!

A delightful historical mystery. Gaius Petreius Ruso is the eponymous doctor of the title, a Roman in the outpost of Deva in ancient Brittania. He escaped a miserable marriage, but now has to cope with a mysterious corpse, horrible living quarters, a scheming house-mate/fellow doctor and chronic shortage of cash. Then, as no good deed goes unpunished, Ruso rescues a near-dead slave girl only to be drawn into the seamier side of life in the port town. With humor and an eye for detail, Ms. Downie has created memorable and very human characters. I hope this is the first of a series.
