i thought this tale was very interestingly told... i believe these were the first graphic novels i've read. the story that was sad, but not so heavy that i couldn't get through them. oddly, i thought the dipictions of animals instead of humans was humanizing in a sense... once i started reading, it didn't matter what i "saw" i knew these were people and it's horrible what people do to other people. it also makes think that if someone is "difficult t deal with" maybe their life experiences play a huge part in the way they behave and treat other people. really glad to have read this tale.

better than the first
This is a great historical graphic novel. I love the exploration of the troubled father son relationship. I also liked the more personal discussion concerning the author's mother committing suicide.
