Do you like to sit and watch the world go by, observing the interactions, conversations and idiosyncrasies of the crowd and the unfolding story in front of you? Do you try to interpret another person's narrative with the limited information to hand? Do you watch nature's elements develop as you sit and absorb a scene? If you do, then Donna Smith's debut poetry collection is the book for you! Like most poets, writing is Donna's release, an outlet for her feelings. She says her poetry is an extension of her persona, and this book gathers together a collection of her poems. With her mix of light and humorous, as well as deeper, more heartfelt poetry, she conducts you on a journey through her own life events and experiences, infused by her shrewd and sometimes wry observations on people, the beauty of nature, the wonder of animals and prosaic, everyday situations. Donna says her poetry helps her to connect with her emotions and to make sense of the world around her. For Donna, expressing herself through her poetry is not simply a desire. It is a need. About the author: Donna Marie Smith is a British poet based in Oldham, Greater Manchester. She began writing poetry in her late teens but only started sharing her work with a wider audience over the last three years after winning the Northern Roots poetry competition. Since then, she has published in the Wheelsong Anthologies, Wildfire Words, Endeavour, Maiden Voyage and recently had a further four poems published in the Invisible Poets Anthology. She is currently writing a fiction novel based on true events of family adoption and is completing a 365 poem a day challenge.
