A good story about a boy (Mark) and a girl (Marianne) and the way they help each other out of a nightmarish situation, via Marianne's dreams. This was made into a TV show in the UK called Paper House. The short series was much more gothic in its treatment of the story, with additional features and parts not found in the book. This has been a bit of a disappointment to our family as some of us remembered the show and wanted to share the slight spookiness with our children, especially as the show is NOT available on video. Generally, we find that books are much better than the TV/movie, but this was not the case. However, Catherine Storr is still an excellent youth author and should be commended for writing an exciting and fun book.
