This is one of the stronger entries in the numerous releases taken from Marian McPartland's Piano Jazz radio series. The octogenarian bassist Milt Hinton is a talented storyteller, he takes his autobiographical "Milt's Rap" and "Joshua" (the latter demonstrates his timeless slapping technique) unaccompanied and he plays six enjoyable duets with the pianist/host. McPartland also has a feature solo ("Stranger in a Dream") and her love and respect for the veteran bassist is obvious. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
