Seller's Description:
Lynd Ward Woodcuts. Very Good. Original quarter black cloth with decorated title label and boards, black endpapers and topstain, and single 1930 date on the copyright page. The book is uncommonly well-preserved--fine and unmarked; The jacket spine is age-toned and has a small chip to the bottom; otherwise with the jacket in very good, clean and bright, and protected by a Brodart jacket cover, this is still a very attractive copy of Ward's classic woodcut novel. Extremely scarce in the dust jacket. Octavo.

Seller's Description:
Very Good in Good jacket. Size: 8vo-over 7.75"-9.75" tall; 2nd Printing, hardcover in dark blue cloth covered boards with an affixed title on spine. Ends lightly rubbed but tips still sharp, a couple of dings on foot of the front cover, Page-block is foxing, top edge dyed black. Unpaginated (approx. 150pp) B/W illustrations of woodcuts tell the story with no written text. Negligible foxing throughout text, end pps are foxed. Not exlib. No markings inside. Original dj is unclipped, age-toned, spine is chipping but 90% there, displays good in new mylar. The Lynd Ward of "God's Man" has created an even greater beauty in this second book, and the pictures themselves are alive with interpretation. There are no words used whatsoever, even chapter titles such as were in "God's Man" were dispensed of. One must turn each page slowly and absorb all the details over which the artist has labored to appreciate this book.
