War es zu Beginn der 2000er-Jahre eine Zunahme von Kreditausf???llen, die einige Institutionen zum Teil in existenzielle Schieflagen brachte, hat die globale Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise zum Ende des letzten Jahrzehnts das Bankensystem nachhaltig ver???ndert und Teile der beobachtbaren Gesch???ftspraktiken und -modelle infrage gestellt. Die von den Notenbanken als Reaktion auf die Weltwirtschaftskrise umgesetzte Niedrigzinspolitik hat den bereits vorhandenen Ergebnisdruck durch r???ckl???ufige Margen, die im Zuge eines verst???rkten Wettbewerbs aufgetreten sind, weiter erh???ht. Die ebenfalls als Krisenreaktion massiv versch???rften regulatorischen Anforderungen haben zudem zu einer deutlichen Erh???hung der Liquidit???ts- und Eigenkapitalanforderungen gef???hrt. Als Ergebnis dieser Entwicklung sind viele deutsche Kreditinstitute seit geraumer Zeit nicht mehr in der Lage, ihre Eigenkapitalkosten zu verdienen.
