Afro-descendant slaves participated, for their part, in the daily musical practices of institutions such as the Colegio de la Compa???n???ia de Jes???us. Without the 'singing Indians', and without the mobility practices that placed them in both contexts, the institutional-musical urban model would not have been possible to maintain in this distant corner of the empire.
