Text has limited pencil underlining in latter chapters and some scribbles from a child in earlier chapters. Pages are gently aging with time. Binding is tight and solid. Copy has light foxing throughout; otherwise in great shape considering age. 13 beautiful b/w plates, some covered with tissue plus frontispiece. Red covers is solid-no corner or spine issues Previous owner has attached newspaper clippings to fly page dated 1912 and 1913 related to author. Rare/scarce rm #47. 440 pages. Quantity Available: 1. Brown publisher's cloth binding, heavily stamped with decorations; gilt titling on the spine. Clean text; xiv, then begins at "9" continuing to 440 pages. Illustrated with many engravings. The text has only some light spotting throughout. Rubbed at the margins and all corners bumped. Nonetheless, a respectable copy of this classic adventure.
