Starr's ink signature and inscription on ffep, to the 11th U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice Charles Evans Hughes, a Republican Progressive with a long distinguished career of public service to the United States. Book plate of Chief Justice Hughes' son-in-law, William Thomas Gossett on fep; William T. Gossett practiced law for more than half a century, and during that time was general counsel for Bendix Aviation Corporation (1945-47), general counsel and vice president of the Ford Motor Co. in 1947; named by President Kennedy as deputy special representative for trade negotiations in 1962; elected President of the American Bar Association in 1968; former president of the National Legal Aid and Defender Association; Chairman of the United Negro College Fund from 1961-1967; Mr. Gossett was a staunch advocate for criminal justice reform; in 1967, former Michigan Governor George W. Romney described Gossett as "a man who has been a leader of causes without regard to the popularity of those causes." This copy is from the William T.
