Good. Brown blindstamped cloth with spine lettering gilt, 312 pps with 5 appendices including appendix of Indian geographic names in the State of New York with pronunciation and translation. One page of ads. The Fourth Edition. The life story of one of the most famous Indian captives in early merican history. Jemison was captured in 1758 at age 13 after the massacre of her family near Ft. Pitt and was moved to western New York after the French and Indian War. She married and Indian and raised her family in the Seneca tribe and she was eventally granted 19, 000 acres of tribal land along the Genesee River. A good only copy, cloth well rubbed and worn, dampstaining to the first few leaves and general foxing throughout. Essentailly a working copy.
