He begins with the prep school life and his feelings of isolation. Each scene of this life is a story, yet, by the end, this story could be any manas story and he is the man of every manas life. The climax, which accurately portrays a manas feelings from inner sensitivity, occurs when he is married, settled with children, a horse farm and what appears to be a happy, normal life. He reads his smallest daughter a story, and then takes her on a trip from which there is no return. How he faces tragedy, how he handles separation and divorce, are told in wry, sometimes humorous, sometimes sad stories; and yet, the inevitability of this life could be that for any of us.
