Alan Lomax and his wife Elizabeth Littleton interviewed Woody Guthrie for the Library of Congress over three days in 1940, with the conversations and Guthrie's vocal performances cut directly onto aluminum discs coated with a special lacquer. A three-record set was issued by Elektra Records.
