All Editions of Letters of Note: An Eclectic Collection of Correspondence Deserving of a Wider Audience (Book of Letters, Correspondence Book, Private Letters)
This book contains 125 fascinating letters written by or to people with familiar or famous names. For example, a letter from Gandhi to Hitler, written
in July 1939, in which he says: "Will you listen to the appeal of one who has deliberately shunned the method of war, not without considerable success?" Another one from Ronald Reagan to his son Michael, when the latter got married (June 1971). He writes: "You have entered into the most meaningful relationship there is in all human life. It can be whatever you decide to make of it." And there is one from Fidel Castro to Franklin D. Roosevelt (November 1940) with the salutation: "My good friend Roosvelt". He says he is twelve years old and writes: "I am a boy but I think very much but I do not think that I am writing to the President of the United States."
This is more than a coffee table book. Revealing letters, as they were not meant to be made public, and, in my view, far more enjoyable to read in a book of this kind than on a website.
