Nearly every week for 58 years, for a total of 2869 broadcasts, Cooke broadcast these "letters" about American life - eventually to people in 50 countries. With his calm, sophisticated, literate, and personal analysis, he always sounded as though he was chatting with a couple of friends by a fireplace. I ordered all three volumes, each having four CDs. They are masterpieces.
