The purpose of this book is to aid the clergy, religious, and laity in studying the scripture, in meditating, and in praying more fervently during Lent. Thus, scriptural reading, meditation, and prayer have been assigned, in this book, for each day from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday. The readings, meditations, and prayers selected in this book have Lenten themes to them in order to preserve the penitential spirit of the season. Each week of Lent has been assigned to a specific mystery of the Passion and Death of Jesus Christ. And each day of the week is further divided into three parts. The first part is a scriptural passage, the second part is meditation, and the third part is a prayer related to the theme of the week. This book is intended to assist one to fulfill on a daily basis the obligation of prayer during the season of Lent.
