Make no mistake; this set doesn't begin to touch the Bear Family compilations of Snow's work either in assemblage, data, or sound. But it doesn't carry the hefty price tag either. This is a solid general collection and contains tracks like "I'm Movin' On," "I Cried but My Tears Were Too Late," "One More Ride," "Bluebird Island" with Anita Carter, Leon Payne's "Now and Always," "Spanish Fireball," "Rhumba Boogie," "The Boogie Woogie Flying Cloud," Cowboy Jack Clement's "Miller's Cave," Stuart Hamblen's "Born to Be Happy," and even a masterful cover of the late Steve Goodman's "City of New Orleans." Snow could sing them all: cowboy songs, love songs, honky tonk ballads, hillbilly blues, and even some countrypolitan stuff. No matter the material, as evidenced here, he more than rose to the occasion, taking each song as if it were the only song on earth.
