PLOT: The princess and the woodland boy are in love. Their path to life together hits a bump called the Dark Lord, who wants to extinguish the sun by killing the last of the unicorns. To capture the unicorns, his minnions must also grab the princess who the D, Lord develops a craving for. The woodland boy and his friends the fairies come to the rescue, save the princess and also get to "Save The Day"!.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT:: 9 of 10; This is one of those films requiring such elaborate fantasy sets, it seems they turn down the lights a bit so we won't see the 'made in...' tags. But otherwise the film is executed by the cast, the make-up artists, the set desiners, the special effects and the choreographer to high standards.
DVD BONUS: Ridley Scott (the Director) overdub of commentary with the music used in the European release; Lost scenes; a Bryan Ferry music video based on the film; Promotion stills and behind the scenes stills.
ADDED NOTES: In the European version the couple run off into the sunset (rise?) after reviving a dead unicorn by putting its horn back. In the USA version we just see the unicorn alive again, the princess runs home and the woodland boy runs off into the sunset (rise?).
