This single CD, unlike the more comprehensive Classics series, has just some of the highlights from Louis Armstrong's Victor recordings of 1932-1933. The backup big band generally sounds under-rehearsed and occasionally out of tune, but Armstrong is the dominant star anyway. Although not of the consistent high level of Louis' 1929-1931 orchestra records, there are quite a few gems on this set, including the touching "That's My Home," "I've Got the World on a String," "Hustlin' and Bustlin' for Baby," remakes of "Basin ...
