Subscription The subscription consists of the instructions to the pharmacist as to the form in which the medicine is to be dispensed. It is invariably written in Latin, commonly in an abbreviated form. (For a complete list of abbreviations in use, see page 73.) The language principles involved are those already discussed in the previous lessons. Although the range of such instructions as may be given in the subscription is quite limited, nevertheless in order to achieve fluency and accuracy a mastery of the inflections and of the syntax is necessary.
