This book is a great starter book for someone who wishes to teach him/herself Latin. My only complaints are these: First, that there is no CD accompanying it so that one can learn the proper pronunciation from Day 1. I inquired with the textbook company about the availability of a CD or tape program, and was informed that it would cost me about $400 to purchase which I frankly can't afford. Secondly, if one wishes to see if (s)he is doing the exercises correctly, one would have to purchase the teacher's edition which contains the correct answers. I did not see that edition listed as being available. Nonetheless, I am happy with the textbook and expect to acquire a decent command of the written language at least by using it.
