Lydia Mendoza was only the most famous of a multigenerational family with a homestyle variety-show. Her younger sisters made a slew of gorgeous records for Azteca Records between 1946 and 1952 in a pure form of the classic norteño/ranchera duet, singing corridos that range from local gossip and current events to a form of incest myth.
