an absolutely marvelous read -- atmospheric and suspenseful. michael innes has written a story trhat is not only an excellent mystery, but is also an excellent novel in its own right. The story is loaed with suspense, interesting and colorful characters and even a dark and mysterious castle in the wilds of the Scotish highlands. Some of the Scotish dialogue may be a little difficult to understand, but that in no way detracts from this near-perfect book. If that isn't enough the reader will not be able to foresee the surprise ending.
