As Ambrose (bitter) Beirce once said, "The covers of this book are too far apart." That sums up my feelings for Kraken.
By turns it's confusing, clever, funny, and weird. It's a fun ride that could of used some editing. By the time you get to page 400, you don't give a damn who stole the giant squid.
