To compliment the road signs, they also wore seatbelts, and for the younger children, child appropriate seats to protect them. When children rode scooters, they were treated like normal road users. Therefore they took extra care at junctions, corners and on the road. Most children were clever enough to learn that RED! Is STOP AMBER! Is WAIT! GREEN is GO! Before setting off on thier scooters, they checked to ensure nothing was loose, thier wheels where inflated, and their brakes where in good working order.
