While these three county soil reports were sent to the Station '8 entire mailing list within the state, subsequent reports are sent only to those on the mailing list who are residents of the county concerned, and to anyone else upon request. Each county report is intended to be as nearly complete in itself as it is practicable to make it, and, even at the expense of some repetition, each will contain a general discussion of important fundamental principles, in order to help the farmer and landowner understand the meaning of the soil fertility invoice for the lands in which he is interested. In Soil Report No. 1, Clay County Soils, this discussion serves in part as an introduction, while in this and other reports it will be found In the Appendix; but if necessary it should be read and studied in advance of the report proper.
