Just Us - The Faircloth Family History in England - Volume I The Faircloth family name originated in England with many variations including "Fairclough." Throughout the ages, the spelling has varied but the ancestors are undoubtedly the connection to the Fairclough/Faircloth families in America. The Prologue includes a brief history of England including events dating back to 330 A. D., to 1086 with the publication of the Doomsday Book that lists all the manors of England and their worth. This book continues with the beginning of the Knights Templers in 1118 following their trek through our ancestors and the building of their English headquarters on Fairclough land. The Fairclough Knights, including Sir Lawrence Fairclough I and Sir Ralph Fairclough the I, as early as 1321, as well as, Esquires, Reverends and translators of the Ancient manuscripts of the Bible into the King James Version (specifically the books of Isaiah through Malachi), will make all current Faircloth families proud of their heritage. It follows our lineage from the 1300s to the 1600/1700s including our connection to the Magna Carta. It may even bridge the gap between our current Faircloth knowledge and its expansion back into time. From spinsters, to Mayors, to physicians, to laborers and farmers to sea farers and great ministers, the wealthy and the poor are equally included showing the wide expanse of our lines. Even skeptical events of brushes with the law and false convictions are included. Volume II of Just Us - The Faircloth American Ancestors will pick up with those who first came to America and trace directly to the author's personal lineage. Other lines are included in previous editions of the Faircloth Family History, specifically the 2012-2013 editions. May all come to revere their heritage and continue to document family events in the pages provided. Read with an open eye to historical events that included our ancestors and expect some surprises.
