Wenn den- noch bis weit in die 70er Jahre hinein die M???dchen in der Forschung relativ unsichtbar geblieben sind, so liegt das an der Herangehensweise vieler Untersuchungen: Bei ge- schlechtsspezifischen Vergleichen wurde die m???nnliche Jugend allzu h???ufig als "Ma???- stab" genommen, demgegen???ber geriet die besondere weibliche Lebenslage den For- schern h???chst selten in den Blick. Es kommt hinzu, da??? sich die Jugendforschung seit den siebziger Jahren vor allem als Subkulturforschung bet???tigt hat.
