As someone who had recently sung the "Magnificat" as a member of a community choral group led by a university choral professor, I wanted to hear it done by a larger professional group. The bonus with this recording was having the composer as the conductor. I had already found the composition exhilarating so was somewhat prejudiced, but this recording lived up to, and exceeded, my expectations, and provided me with the additional "The Falcon," which I also enjoyed. The accompaniment, the Singers and Choristers, and Ms. Forbes provided a marvelous experience for any listener who enjoys Rutter's style of composition and musical leadership.
