It is amazing to read the qualifiers that accompany this narrative! it seems as if Graham never let the truth interfere with a good story, and was constantly revising his biography. Enormous effort was taken to sort out the truth from romantic fiction, during the preparation of this exhibit and catalogue. The exhibition checklist cites 85 specific pieces--8, from other artists of the day--and many if not all are pictured here. Includes an illustrated chronology and substantial bibliography. Uncommon, in any condition.
