One Way To Sainthood
TITLE: Joan of Arc
GENRE: Biography
CAST: Leelee Sobieski, Chad Willett, Peter O'Toole, Neil Patrick Harris, Olympia Dukakis, Powers Boothe, Jaqueline Bisset, Robert Loggia, Shirley MacClaine, Maximilian Schell and Peter Strauss (Songs by Charlotte Church)
REVIEW: A made for TV two part mini-series, this excellent presentation is allowed more time to portray the tragic life of one of history's bravest women than have efforts of the past. One look at the cast list should convince you that the acting is of the finest caliber possible. The costumes are authentic reproductions from Italy's finest clothiers. The armor suits were made espescially for the production by methods of the 15th century. The sets are mostly from breathtaking castle sites in and around Prague
RETURN ON INVESTMENT: 8.5 of 10; The only drawback (yes, there is only one!) to the presentation is the sudden cuts for commercials which are okay and unnoticable most of the time, but on a few occassions they really tear the flow.
DVD BONUS: Brief biographies and filmographies of many of the cast and crew. Production notes on how the ingredients of the film were brought together.
ADDED NOTES: It serves as a good history lesson on western civilization's 15th century's continued emergence from out of the Dark Ages
