What's that on the sea there?" I looked hard whenever the lugger rose up in a swell. "It's a sail," I said, in a low voice; "a small sail. A cutter by the look of her." "Yes," he said, "she's a cutter. Now turn to windward. What d'ye make of that?" He jerked himself around to stare to windward and ahead of us.
