Lefebvre's Il ne faut pas mourir pour ???a (1966) was the first Canadian film ever shown at Cannes; Les Derni???res Fian???ailles (1973) won the top European Catholic Prize in 1974; and Les Fleurs sauvages (1982) received the International Critics' Prize at the Cannes film festival in 1983. More recently, Lefebvre has explored the creative potential of video as a visual medium. In Jean Pierre Lefebvre: Vid???aste, Peter Harcourt provides an overview of Lefebvre's films and an incisive consideration of his five-part video project L'???ge des images (1993-95).
