VG- Book Not ex-lib. Hardcover in black cloth with silver staped titles spie and front, no jacket, 8vo. Presumed 1st edition with 1938 copyright only date indicated. 234pp. Index, bibliography, musical examples. VG-. Cloth overall clean and sharp with touches of scuffing to rear board, softened spine ends with minute touches of surface loss, toed-in corners. Spine titles dulled but clearly legible, front stamping clean and bright. Binding strong and square, tough last page of ondex and rear free endpaper slightly misset with o associated effects. Moderate uniform toning to clean, unmarked pages on somewhat pulpy stock (stronger toning to endpapers and margins); shallow creases alog lower corner edges of pp.103-108 with roughness along creses. Scarce in early edition.
