Although in the other discs of Jilek and the Brnonians' Janácek have been quite fine, the competition is sometimes too much for them in the big works and the music is sometimes too much for them in the virtuosic works. But in this collection, the music suits them down to the ground. Perhaps it's that this disc has the most deeply Moravian music on it and the Brnonians, being Moravian, just naturally let their hearts sing to its exuberant melancholy.
