When he made the race for Congress in 1906, against the late vice-president Sherman, some Of the supporters Of the latter circulated false and scurrilous matter, labeled by the very title this volume bears. I have, therefore, adopted it so that the public may realize some Of the real thoughts which emanated from the pen and the real utterances which were enunciated by the voice Of James K. O'connor.
