Publisher's file copy from the archive at Gollancz with their neat stamp 'File Copy' on the front of d/w and pastedown. Front panel of jacket designed by Shirley Hughes. A contemporary review by rances Gray Patton stated, "charming book, with high-spirited youth-the most difficult of all golden birds to capture." Loosely inserted are 2 good signed handwritten letters from Oriel Malet to the phphographer Pamela Chandler. About 600 words. On Portnall Lea, Virginia Water printed notepaperabout 1960. Discussing photos and fees and also outlining the rules of her house which the photorapher was about to rent. Fine in very good indeed bright d/w with very faint soiling and very slight edgewear.
