I can never resist a Kitty Kelly book and this one I have read more than once. The book was written after Aristotle Onasis died but before the death of Jacqueline. While Ms. Kelley dishes the dirt to sell the books, it is possible to look at this book with a view softened by the passage of time. There are lots of insights into the odd behaviors of Ms. Onassis, her endless shopping and jet-set lifestyle. So if you are like me and adored this iconic first lady, I am sure you will also enjoy this book.

Two sides to Jackie
A very detailed writing on the personality traits of the First lady. There was far more to Jackie than a pretty face and after I had read this book I did not think anymore that she was a sweet trusting wife. She was well aware of the shortcomings of her husband and of her own powers to take advantage of her position and to enjoy her own needs to be spotlighted. She was very selfish too in her own way particularly with giving as little of herself for the luxuries she was able to surround herself with. Even the day of the assasination she went out of her way to pull the focus to herself and prolonged the agony to satisfy the little girl in her.
