I became interested in this book after seeing some negative reviews on YouTube posted by persons in the transgender community. I am surprised by the bad reviews as I found the book to be well written, comprehensive, respectful, and empathetic. The book is definitely NOT transphobic nor mean spirited in my opinion. The author interviewed persons who had varying experiences, opinions and expertise and she relayed her experiences of those interviews respectfully. I recommend the book to anyone who is interested in this topic. I also recommend that anyone interested read the book itself rather than relying on reviews, whether the reviews are positive or negative.

harmful, misinformed
As A young transgender teen, I found this book to be poorly written, harmful (to myself and others), and frankly just full of lies. It is clear that the author is uneducated in certen topics, and does not state proper facts. I would not recomend this book to anyone, as most claims are false.
