Very Good (Plus). No Jacket. 12mo-over 6¾"-7¾" tall. John Bowles Daly (1844? -1916? ) worked as a journalist in London; he wrote several important books relevant to Irish history and economy. Later, he was a Bhuddist in Ceylon. His work on Swift is uncommon. This is a Very Good (Plus) copy of the First Edition. Green cloth binding, ruled, and with shamrocks on the front cover; titling in black and gilt. Gilt lettering on the spine. Clean text; 278 pages. Light rubbing at the margins; top edge a bit dusty; spine darkened but the lettering remains bright; penciled notations on the half-title, where the hinge is weak but holding.
