Interdisciplinary research and cross-fertilizations emerge in several of the essays and the coherent ensemble constitutes an example of the far-reaching results being achieved in this current research. The essays in this volume originate from the Society for Italian Studies Postgraduate Colloquia that took place at the University of Leicester in 2004 and the University of Cambridge in 2005.
