Excerpt from International Association of Instructors and Investigators in Poultry Husbandry, Vol. 1: Proceedings of the Meetings for the Years 1908, 1909, 1910 For a number of years previous to the formation of the International Association of Instructors and Investigators in Poultry Husbandry, there existed among several interested in Poultry work a desire to discuss common problems and various methods. A movement to accomplish this desirable end was set on foot as early as 1906 when several teachers of Poultry Hus bandry met at the Madison Square Garden Show for an impromptu discussion. A little later, in 1908 to be specific, others feeling that conditions were ripe for concerted action and organization united in an effort to assemble all teachers and investigators of Poultry Culture. After considerable discussion it was decided to hold a conference in connection with the course in Poultry at the Graduate School of Agriculture, meeting that year at Cornell University. A regular organization was effected at this conference. The interest manifested induced the directors to hold a meeting of the Association annually. The second conference was held at the Ontario Agricultural College and Experiment Station and the third at the Iowa Agricultural College and Experiment Station.
