Here are the introductory paragraphs that describe the material that will go in the box. This set of eleven audio tapes contain the recorded materials made in conjunction with the textbooks and the workbooks of the "Interactions I-II: A Cognitive Approach to Beginning Chinese". Since Lesson 1 and Lesson 3 concern the general introduction of the Chinese language and the Chinese writing system respectively, there is no taped material for them. The recording for the Lesson 2: The Chinese sound system includes the sounds, their examples and the classroom expressions as introduced in the lesson. In order to help students to learn the smallest speech units first, in the recorded materials for the conversational lessons, Lesson 4-23, we have arranged the recording in the following sequence: Vocabulary, Dialogue, Mini-dialogue, and Grammar, which is slightly different from their order of appearance in the textbooks. The recorded materials for the Workbooks only include the parts A-E in Lesson 2, and the dialogues of the listening comprehension components in Lesson 4-23.
