This book includes a substantial number of new poems and work from seven collections published between 1984 and 1998. In the section of new poems there are explorations of the need for love, waking and dream visions and a series of poems featuring parts of the body. A longer poem, memorably vivid in its imagery, is a response to a talk by Esther Brunstein, a concentration camp survivor.

Seller's Description:
Poor. First Edition. Paperback. First edition. 8vo. Paperback. Typed signed letter loosely inserted addressed to Norman [Scarfe] and Paul [Fincham] from Myra Schneider 130 Morton Way Southgate London N14 7AL dated 18 September 1999 and consisting of about 320 words in which she thanks them for making her 'so welcome and comfortable' and for coming to the reading. She encloses a poem seven pages in length entitled Sutton Hoo which was later published in Lifting the Sky, Ward Wood Publishing 2018. She has had positive reactions from poet friends about it and hopes the National Trust will use it in a booklet to sell in their Visitors Centre. Norman Scarfe (1923-2014) was a notable historian who established a name for himself in the field of topographical history at Leicester University. He focused on East Anglia and conceived with Geoffrey Martin the idea of founding the Suffolk Records Society. He also worked for the conservation of his native Suffolk. Paul Fincham was his life-partner. Myra Schneider (born 1936) poet, broadcaster and tutor has published novels for children and a quantity of poetry collections. She was shortlisted for a Forward Prize for best single poem in 2007. Her work has appeared in many magazines and newspapers. Fine. ISBN: 1900564866 Fine.
