Joining Darnell, who plays synthesizer and grand piano, are harpist Rachel Starr Williams, violinist Malcolm Watson, and flautist Bryan Savage. The pieces are often heady affairs, with the flute playfully swirling, harp glissandi sparkling, and violin soulfully tugging at heartstrings. Savage's flute is echoed electronically to transport the listener to the halls of eternity, while the comforting sounds of seagulls and surf offer peaceful respites between eddies of golden light and the rhapsodic melodies of the grand piano. The piano's melody on "Angels of Hope" is fullblooded, yet conveys the essence of redemption.
