I heard our family's version of these and other stories from Donegal as a child from my grandfather. His father traveled around the countryside telling storeis, many of learned them from his father from NW Ireland.
The versions in this book bring back many memories and anyone that has happened upon me at a fair or gathering in the story telling tent has heard some verison of these :)
