A debt of honor forces a young woman to do the unthinkable for her sister. While trying to free herself from a long ago promise she finds herself thrown into a plot that goes far beyond what was originally asked of her. To her dismay. She bucks up and pays her debt all the while fighting her natural instincts to be truthful and remain chaist. While in the throws of her plot, she is distraught not only for the lies, but her ensuing emotions for a Baron. Unlikely, the men in the plot are not the heros (save for Joseph in a side twist - and Tadd in the end) as they are merely characters set up unwittingly by the original plan. This story is one where the lead female, who sacrifices herself and all from beginning to end, is the real hero in the story. Her sacrifices are paramount to the story and make a reader wish for her to have it all. The story is a single read for most, but hard to put down if one must. This is a likely second read for the reader who really roots for the underdog in a story. The heroine is also the underdog in the story - a rare treat. Jackson hit this nail on the head.
