First Edition. Hardback. No Dust Jacket. 4to. pp 74, 34 plates. Bound in green cloth, lettered gilt at the spine. Copiously illustrated in colour and black and white throughout. Bookplate of Frederick DuCane Godman (1834-1919) was an English lepidopterist, entomologist and ornithologist. He was one of the twenty founding members of the British Ornithologists' Union. He closely studied the fauna and flora of Central Americas and had several plants name after him. He corresponded with other scientists of his time including Charles Darwin. Slight fox spotting to the title page, otherwise very good. Decent copy.
